North and south fence planting strips

I've been working on clearing the invasive weeds along the north and south fencing strips. That has mainly been of weeds like wild clematis, blackberries, and ivy. Many of them appear to almost be "old growth" due to chronic neglect of this area.
We've had a couple work parties with residents on the south side, and Wencie has also been helping, both the north and south sides. By now, the main part of the north side is complete, and all the south side is complete. We initially envisioned planting grapes along the south side since it gets pretty much full sun. However, it is too narrow to really do justice to grapes.
To simplify maintenance, we are changing the plans from grapes on the south fence to perhaps along the north fence or the front yard, or both, and planting the newly cleared south side with sunflowers, poppies, and morning glory. They take far less maintenance, reseed themselves yearly, and just need weeding, which is simplified by heavily mulching the planting areas.
Right now we are working on the west side of the exit driveway to Gladstone Street. It was heavily colonized with clematis which has overgrown the 6 utility poles we plan to use for our entry poles demarcating the boundaries of the property. As at Kailash, eventually the poles will be connected with steel arches which support a living jasmine trellis. But for now, the plan is to just tie the two sides together with prayer flags.
For now, we need to move the poles into position, mount them, and then clear invasives from their old location, paving the way for planting more ornamental and edible landscapes.
I hope we can pull this off in the next few weeks!
